The occasion was my dearest friend Daniela’s birthday, the month was July 2021 and the experience was very exciting!
Today I want to tell you the story of the day I slept in a Yurt at Quinta do Ragal.
But before we go any further, let me just tell you what a Yurt is. The first time I heard about a Yurt was at Casa das Palmeiras, back in 2019 when I went there to listen to the travel adventures of Anabela and Jorge from DiariesOf, who talked about their trip on a motorcycle in Kyrgyzstan. They talked about their experience and they showed us photos of several Yurts.
The Yurts are circular tents traditionally used by the Mongolian Nomads and other peoples such as the Kyrgyzs and the Kazakhs.
Now that you are enlightened, let’s continue the story. So Daniela told us that she would celebrate her birthday at Quinta do Ragal. So then booked our stay there and we were really excited to know that we could sleep in a Yurt! I don’t know about you but I love to have new experiences and get out of the routine.
When we arrived at Quinta do Ragal we were very well received and we immediately went to see the Yurt. From the outside, they didn’t seem very big but they were very well decorated. Then, we entered the Yurt and we were surprised by how spacious it was inside!. The decoration was also very unique and we slept very comfortably!
If you want to have a weekend getaway and have a different experience like this one you should definitely go to Quinta do Ragal!
