This year I travelled to Lille to attend a work in event and I didn’t miss the chance to try some typical dishes while I was there. One of the best things about travelling is to have the chance to try different foods!

A country’s food will tell you about its people and culture!

Without further due let’s see the dishes I tried in Lille!

Number 1, the carbonade flamande!

This dish was delicious and I accompanied it with good red wine! This dish is made with beef, Belgian beer and a lot of onions.

Number 2, Le Welsh

The dish is made by boiling beer in a pot, adding cheese (usually cheddar) to the pot, and then pouring the mix over a slice of toasted bread and ham. It’s then cooked until it becomes golden, followed by the addition of a fried egg on top.

Where to eat? Les Compagnons de la Grappe

Number 3, Flammkuchen

When thinking about pizza most people think about Italy but I must say that Flammkuchen, a german/french crispy pizza is super delicious and worth trying!
