Exploring Brno with SmartGuide

Today I want to tell you about my experience of discovering Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic using the SmartGuide application!

I arrived at Brno by RegioJet (from Budapest to Brno it was 4 hours) and I must say that Brno train station is quite beautiful.

I was offered a digital audio guide of Brno from Smart Guide, due to the purchase of the train ticket and I used it to discover the city.

I did a bit of search before my trip but I must say that using this audio guide was great to learn more about Brno’s cultural heritage!

SmartGuide app has self-guided tours, which means you have access to an itinerary and you can explore a city on your own.

My experience using SmartGuide

The app is very easy to use. After the dowload to your smartphone you need to create a profile and select the languagues for using the app. I selected portuguese and english.

The next step is choosing a city destination. After the self guided tours will appear as well as a small introduction about the city. The self guided tours have a time duration, distance and number of places to visit. Therefore you can pick the best tour for you, according to the time you have!

When using the app your GPS must be on and you will also have access to a map of the city. Hence, even if you don’t have time or you don’t want to move to a place that is far away from the centre you can always hear and read about it.

Another great aspect of the app is that it recommends you more places to visit and you can apply several filters such as “hidden treasures places” or “places to see that are free”. Plus it also recommends you some experiences you can have in the destination you’re visiting as well as other places to visit around the place you’re discovering.

Using SmartGuide allowed me to discover the kristek house, which didn’t appear in the search I did before the trip.
